My Little Brother

Jack is an Eagle Scout! I'm so glad that all of my siblings were able to come together to honor Jack and all of the things he has accomplished in his many years of scouting. 

Since Sam died, everything that Jack has done, every milestone he has passed, has seemed doubly meaningful to our family, as if he were doing it for both himself and Sam, and I would sometimes wonder if he resented that kind of pressure. But last night at his Court of Honor he claimed Sam as the inspiration for this accomplishment and as his motivation to do hard things. 

While watching Jack speak I realized that my little brother is now a man, and I couldn't be prouder of him.
